Pregnancy Highlights-Week 24

I couldn't have asked for better weather for my weekend off. It was such a gorgeous day today! Isn't it crazy that 40 degree temps are considered warm? But really, it was so nice outside and I had every intention of vacuuming out my car because it needs it so badly. It didn't happen. Instead I ran some errands in the morning, and then came home and cleaned my house, and then went to my parents, where I spent the better part of the day. So, tomorrow is another day and that gives me another chance to clean my car.

That leaves me with my Week 24 Pregnancy Highlights. I definitely have the "waddle" going on. I never fully understood why some pregnant women waddled, but I do now! There are so many things that I could do before that I took for granted, like bending over to put socks on, getting into my car, shaving my legs, etc. It's getting harder to do these things! I really think my belly gets bigger everyday, and it seems to be growing outward only. And it itches something fierce right around my belly button! Lotion has become my best friend.

How Far Along: 24 Weeks

Total Weight Gain
: 30 lbs

Sleep:
Some nights are good, others not so much. Acid reflux has been waking me up in the middle of the night. Turning over has also become one of those pre-pregnancy things I took for granted. Now it's a production.

Best Moment this Week
: The best moments are when the babies are moving around. I love it! It brings me so much happiness.

Gender
: Girls

Movement:
Yes! They are becoming more active--they love to move around when I am sitting on the couch at night. I love to just watch my belly move!

Food Craving
: Milk, chocolate, strawberries, raspberries.

What I Miss
: Taking a HOT bath, painting my toes.

What I'm Looking Forward to
: Getting our nursery done. Mike is painting the trim and hopefully the ceiling this weekend, then we have to paint the walls, get new baseboards and carpet, order the furniture and then we are done!

Weekly Wisdom
: Don't compare how big or little you are compared to other pregnant women. Your pregnancy is just that: YOURS.

Symptoms
: Big belly, widening feet, stuffy nose, hard to get comfortable. HAPPY!!!!

You look adorable!

As for the NICU, try not to stress about it (I know, easier said than done). My son, who was born full term, unexpectedly spent 5 weeks in the NICU. Many babies were there because they were born prematurely, and the NICU is just the best place for them. All of the babies I met that were premature were doing well...the doctors know just what to do to help them in most cases.
