Since their one year checkup, we have been trying to get the girls to take their sippy cup more often. Our peditrician said that he would like to see them completely off the bottle by 15 months. So we have begun the "sippy cup" training. We already had sippy cups by NUK and they hated them. They would throw the cup and that would be the end of that. Now we are trying the Playtex sippy cups, and so far it's been good. The thing I like about these cups is that the handles are on the lid, not on the cup. The girls seem to like this better too!
We are still giving them a bottle in the morning and at night, but trying to use the sippy cup during the day. It was recommended that we take the valve out of the cup because it makes learning to drink from a cup easier. It is, but it is also way messier. I usually have to put bibs on the girls so that they don't get soaking wet. It's still a work in progress!
