There is something about Fall that makes me want to scrub my house from top to bottom. It's like my body and mind know that winter is not that far off and I need to get my house ready for days being cooped up inside.

That being said, I can't stop thinking about organizing and getting rid of all the junk we have laying around. So my first step was having a garage sale this past weekend. I had all of the girls clothes from their 1st year seperated into bins according to month, and let me tell you, there were enough clothes to outfit a small village. Some of the stuff still had tags on them (ridiculous, right?).

My mom and I spent hours getting ready for this garage sale. Saturday morning rolled around and I was pumped to get rid of our stuff. Not only did I have tons of clothes, but I was also getting rid of 4 bouncers, 2 walkers, 2 infant carriers, a stroller, 2 extra car seat bases, a bassinet, a jumperoo, an infant tub, and 2 play gyms (and more!). I'm a pretty modest person, but I have to say that my stuff was in AWESOME condition. I had no doubt that it would be gone in no time.

If I only knew what was really going to happen, I would have said to scrap the whole garage sale idea. I could count on one hand the number of people that came to the sale! I was completely bummed. The weather was beautiful, we had put signs out ; I just could not for the life of me figure out what the problem was.

So, I did end up getting rid of 2 walkers, 1 bouncer, and the jumperoo along with a HANDFUL of clothes. I almost felt sick afterward, seeing the mass amounts of clothing that was leftover. We packed up everything into my dad's truck and hauled it off to Once Upon A Child. Apparently, every mom in Grand Rapids had the same idea, because that place was beyond busy. They paid me on the spot for my bouncers and swing, but it was going to take them 2+ days to get to my 4 tubs of clothing. Hoping I will hear from them today!

All in all, it was a big garage sale fail. I don't think I will be doing one again anytime soon.

Now I am making Mike tackle our basement with me. We have to make a playspace for the girls since I am over having my small living room serve as their playroom. Let's hope we can get this accomplished without one of us wanting to strangle the other!
And just for kicks, here's a pic of the girls from this weekend!

*We can finally put pigtails in Morgan's hair! Hooray!

Are they walking??? How awesome! Lucy will stand for a few moments but is still hesitating to take any steps. I know she's close!
Sorry about the sale fail. Makes me wonder what I should do with all the stuff accumulated in my garage...
