Mid Week Ramblings

Time to play catch up! Here's what's been going on in my world lately!

  • The girls are pretty much over their colds, but yesterday I came home from work and Mike was giving Morgan Tylenol. He said he took her temp and she had a low grade fever. I put her and Taylor into the car and took them over to my parents so my dad could look at the girls ears (he's a PA). Sure enough, Morgan had an ear infection and for good measure, he checked T's ears, and she had a double ear infection. We hauled them to Urgent Care where they confirmed my dad's diagnosis and sent us off with prescriptions. Ugh! I feel bad for the munchkins. It's been one thing after another.

  • I'm in the 4th week of my Bible study on 1 John. I am sort of following along with the study that they are doing over at Good Morning Girls, and it's been really good so far. Even though I try to do it every day, it gets hard to find that quiet time. I usually try to do it when the girls are either napping or in bed for the night, but sometimes that can be hard too since they aren't sleeping the greatest these days.

  • Mike and I are in need of date night. With his crazy schedule and with the girls being sick, we haven't exactly had time to ourselves. And honestly, we've been getting really short with each other and nitpicking over little stuff. We need some time to just be together and to forget all that little stuff that causes tempers to flare.

  • My DVR is so full and I haven't been getting caught up. The Tigers games have been on in our house and have been occupying a lot of the viewing time. Here's what's still on my DVR to watch: Hart of Dixie, Revenge, Parenthood, Terra Nova, The Good Wife, The Amazing Race, Unforgettable and Grey's Anatomy.

  • Still haven't gotten a move on redoing our office (what a surprise). It will happen one of these days.

  • Reading the second book in the Hunger Games series. I am liking this book much better than the first, but it is based on a reality and characters that I can't really identify with. That being said, I can't put the darn book down.

  • I've been wondering if I am the only parent who feels like their kids ALWAYS have a meltdown in public. And when I say meltdown, I am exaggerating, but the girls always end up crying, shrieking, or whining whenever we are in public. That's usually when I spot the mom with the ever so well behaved toddlers or kids with her, and I want to sink into the floor. How does she do that? Or is it just a coincidence that they are behaving when I see them? I don't know, but I've debated taking them out in public again. :)

Well, that's my world lately. Not exactly earth shattering news and events, but it's the happenings in the Marshall house. Hope you are all doing well on this Wednesday!

Two things:
1) DVR the show "Up All Night" (Christina Applegate and Will Arnett). You will laugh your hind-end off, it will be so familiar!
2) Girl, whenever I take my kids to storytime at the library, I literally see some of the other moms cringing. That's because Will doesn't sit on his carpet square like a docile toddler. NO -- he must be getting up, showing everyone his Matchbox car (he almost always has one with him), touching the books, pulling down the visual aids, getting into the teacher's personal space while she's reading, etc. Yeah, I'm *THAT* mom and my kid is *THAT* kid. Oh well. I do the best I can! :) Don't sweat it -- those other moms are just being smug because their kids just happen to be having a good moment! LOL!

I'm glad the girls are finally feeling better :) The only reason we've finally gotten caught up with our DVR is because of the World Series trumping new episodes HAHA!

I'm not sure if you do these kinds of things, but I left you an award on my blog :)
