The Gardens

When I woke up this morning, I had an itch to get the girls out of the house. So, I immediately decided that it would be the perfect day to take them to Meijer Gardens to see the Butterfly Exhibit.

In my mind, it sounded like a wonderful idea.

In reality, maybe not such a wonderful idea.

The minute I pulled into the parking lot, I had a sinking feeling that today was not a good day to be visiting. The place was PACKED with school buses and about a million elementary school kids, not to mention all of the senior citizens who also thought it would a fun day for a bus trip to the gardens.

I should have turned around.

But I'm nothing if not stubborn.

We proceeded in, where Taylor decides it's a good time to be little Miss Crabbypants.

I gave her a sippy cup, thinking it would calm her down. It did. For about 10 seconds.

My mom and I walked into the exhibit and immediately just gave each other The Look. The look that says what in the world are we thinking? But we pressed on anyway. Taylor didn't want to walk, but she didn't want to be held either. She fussed, and cried, and whined. I kept walking around, trying to distract her by pointing out the butterflies and all of the different plants and flowers. It was no use. 15 minutes into the trip and we were done.

I did manage to get a few pics of this lovely outing!

Taylor looks like she could shoot daggers through her little eyes at this point.
As you can see, Morgan isn't exactly thrilled to be along on this adventure either. Ugh.

So there you have it. Another awesome trip! Ha! We'll have to try another day when it isn't so busy. Maybe in a couple of years!
